Sent to Gene Spinelli by George Robb, Sept. 1966. George was very involved with the Sea Scouts organization in Dunedin. He was the bartender at the Criterion Hotel's public bar.

Here are 2 very rare postmarks from USS Thomas J. Gary. Note the one dated Oct. 12, 1944 has "Censor" on the envelope. Also, the enclosed letter had a word cut out of the paper by the censor. The ship was USS Gary in 1944. The other postmark was Sept. 9, 1945. The ship's name was changed to Thomas J. Gary. There were no censor marks because the war was over. The enclosed letter told of assisting with the repatriation of POWs.
